Portland Haunted Tour offers a guided journey through Portland, Oregon's dark and sordid past. Our custom vehicles (a shuttle bus and a van) will take you to sites of tragedy, death, and rumored paranormal occurrences. Come experience the darker side of the City of Roses.

On the Portland Haunted Tour, you’ll learn about the unfortunate circumstance that forced the city’s leaders to use a public theatre as a morgue, a flood that destroyed an entire city in two hours, the haunted site of a former radio station, a head of industry who placed a curse upon his home and many other tales of the macabre.

We give you a historical look at some of the people and places located in Portland as well as give you a look into some of the strange and paranormal activities associated with them. Come and see if some of your favorite places make it on our tour!

Tours are offered at 8:00pm* Monday-Saturday and last approximately 2-2.5 hours. (*Note: Tours will begin at 7:30pm starting November 1, 2006.) We will take you to locations all around the city on our custom, air-conditioned shuttle bus or van (depending on the size of the tour). It is recommended that guests be 13 years of age or older to attend. Advance purchase of tickets is required. Group discounts of 10 or more and private tours are available. Ghost Tours come to Oregon’s first city this October.

Northwest Ghost Tours will offer Ghost Walks in the historic McLoughlin Neighborhood during October 2006. “Walk with the Spirits” through Oregon City's historic McLoughlin Neighborhood. Listen to stories about Oregon's oldest city and hear some of the city's amazing legends and folklore. Guests on the tour will pass by some of Oregon City's most haunted places and hear stories about the spirits that still roam the first city west of the Rocky Mountians. Ghost Tours begin at the corner of 5th and Washington outside of the Pioneer Community Center in Oregon City and cover about 20 blocks. Tours last about 1 hour and 45 minutes. Tickets are $12.00 per person.

October tours will take place Monday-Thursday at 7:30 p.m. and
Friday-Saturday and Halloween Night at 7:30 p.m. and 9:30 p.m.

Tours throughout the Northwest will be offered in the future including Portland. Look for the new tours starting in 2007 and 2008.

The "Portland Underground" tunnels, more popularly known as the "Shanghai Tunnels", were basements of buildings that connected to other buildings through brick and stone archways that were intersected with tunnels that connected under the streets, linking block to block. These "catacombs" or "tombs", as they were sometimes called, created a unique network of passages and thoroughfares that were used by unscrupulous individuals called "shanghaiiers" or "crimps", in addition to "white slavers" who grabbed women and sold them into prostitution.
